Jordan’s Principle Services
Food Vouchers for Families with Children
The Délı̨nę Got’ı̨nę Government (DGG) Community Food Security Program provides assistance to families of First Nation descent that reside within the Community Boundaries of Délı̨nę. Food vouchers are available during the first week of every month to ensure that all children have adequate and nutritious food.
Kari Ferdinand is the Food Voucher Coordinator and welcomes you to get in touch about this program. You can visit Kari at her office in the Victor Beyonnie Building, call her at 876-589-3515, or email her at jp.foodvoucher@gov.deline.ca.
Services for Children with Specialized Health Needs
Jordan’s Principle funding is available for First Nations children with unmet health and wellness needs. Children with disabilities, addiction, mental health, or social needs, may be able to access this funding. This program assists with things like treatment programs, wheelchair ramps, specialized hearing aids, medical equipment, land-based activities, teaching assistants, or other programs, services, or devices deemed necessary.
Accessing this funding can be difficult and the DGG is pleased to provide the assistance of Patricia Modeste, Jordan’s Principle Coordinator.
Patricia works with residents to explain funding eligibility and to provide support in navigating the application process. She also contacts Jordan’s Principle representatives on behalf of applicants.
If you have a child that may benefit from this program, please get in touch with Patricia. Her office is located in the Wellness Centre beside the big church. You can call her at 867-589-3004, extension 1400, or email her at jp.coordinator@gov.deline.ca.
